Man-Cow Disease

Here we go folks:

http://www.msnbc.com/news/793119.asp?0bl=-0&cp1=1

Half-human, half-cows have been successfully cloned and grown to full size!

They have more human DNA than any other xenospecies.

Will be 'used to grow antibodies to help children', according to the
biochemists.

Dang, I thought humans already HAD an immune system.

Might not do much against the new types of diseases we'll see jumping the
species barrier through these hosts.

yes, you make a very good point there, Jeff.

this comment is the one that bothered me a lot:

"Then each cloned calf could be an antibody factory,
he said, producing a variety of products."

while i'm not a vegan, because i believe that a wide
variety of different foods is the most essential dietary
factor for maintenance of good health in humans, i am
inclined to veganism because of the way the food industry
treats and views animals as a "product". but *this*
is REALLY disgusting!

thanks for the heads up ... i hadn't heard anything
about this anywhere.

I saw the story yesterday and thought it was
a big deal. Don't know why I didn't post something
about it then...
