Great find! Wolfram is apparently hugely famous for not giving credit, so it might be interesting to see who cross-fertilized who. Or if it's synergy. Or something else.

Fredkin has been doing this for a long time. I think Wolfram is a little too self promoting. No citations in his book, even though he knows full well who has been doing what in the literature.
