By the way, did anyone catch the story about the New Jersey Welfare
Department: apparently it came under fire from the governor, because it
had "privatized" its functions, and the business it rented services from
had fired all of its New Jersey, (and US, for that matter) employees and
hired folks from India to manage the welfare rolls.

Yes, that's right, if you're on welfare in New Jersey, you call up and
talk to someone in India, who'll (supposedly) help you find a job.

Yes, that's right, an organization whose express purpose it is to find
jobs for unemployed US citizens fired all of its US workforce and hired
folks from India instead (at much lower wages of course).

The race to the bottom continues. . . . (not to mention probable
increasing xenophobia, etc. among those affected . . .)
