muchas gracias, dante! ... i thought this was great, but ...

unfortunately, this is not the glorious voice i remember
hearing that one time. that's probably explained by the
fact that this recording was made rather late in Garden's
career, at age 52.

i did a search on the web myself, to look for a vintage
mp3's, but couldn't find any. but there were several
composers who were so captivated by her voice that they
created roles for her, Debussy and Charpentier among them.

so apparently her prime was around the first decade of
the 1900s, when she was only in her late 20s - early 30s.

if anyone can find something she recorded between 1900-1915
or so, that should be a good one. please share it!
