meditation on sound on a beautiful day

it's an absolutely gorgeous day in San Diego today,
and i was just sitting by the open window listening
to the sounds of this like-a-lazy-summer afternoon.

basically, it's pretty quiet ... most people must
have gone to the beach or someplace.

but as i listened to the birds, dogs, and occasional
cars passing by (no helicopters lately ... thank goodness!),
i was struck by the thought that if a filter could
take out all the traffic sounds, where are a molded
type of noise, the remaining "nature" sounds would
all be more-or-less harmonic timbres.

interesting...
