Police state

Yo...interesting chats about what's happening, but what's new? The
original inhabitants of this hemisphere have been living under a police
state, and much worse, for hundreds of years, as have black folks. What
makes this recent turn of legal events so ominous is that now, even
white folks are losing their rights. In a way, though, maybe that's
"good..." in the sense that people may start coming to their senses, and
begin to see just how "free" we are, really. And if white folks get mad,
maybe then some serious changes will occur in the legal system.
Although, after 9-11, I do believe we're in for some serious troubles in
the freedoms department...what I've seen coming from Ashcroft and crew
is rather scary, because they mean to get real tough on any perceived
threats to the USA, which gives them a perfect excuse to do exactly the
sorts of things you guys have been mentioning. Looks like we're in for
some interesting years coming up...Hstick

Maybe you folks will think I'm paranoid, but like I wrote before,
IMO this whole thing is the American government entering a new
phase where it's OK to curtial individual rights for the sake of
the state. The state isn't going to finish the war in the
Middle East until it controls access to *all* of the oil.
And as long as the war is happening, everything everyone does,
whether he/she is an American citizen or not, is suspect.
That's the bottom line.

I'm tempted to make some comment about getting
your hood ready Neil, but everybody's screwed
here.
