I'm reminded of Stephen Lansing's investigation into the
failure of rice in Bali after its "industrialization".

I'm also recommended Michael Pollan's new book,
The Omnivore's Dilemma.

allot of people trying to confine our access to nature for the purpose of ownership by exerting a control that was never advantageous

Yeah, like sterilizing seeds so people have to buy them every
year.
