I have seen Bill break-down on other lists before, then disappear. Sadly, the disappearance is usually combined with some anti-semitic remarks.

There was one called (IIRC) "New Serialism" or some such. Way back in, 2000? 2001? When the breakdown occurred, someone else on the list explained to me that he had seen it happen before. . .it seems to be a recurring cycle.

If I was sceptical it's because I didn't want to believe these
lists are cursed. You see, I think fully 100% of anti-semitic
remarks I have ever heard or read in any kind of
professional/hobby/friendly/acquaintence relationship have been
on these lists. Honestly I can't think of a single exception.
I'd heard anti-black racist comments around my home town and
even in California, and I guess there is Bobby Fischer, but
geez. Music theory... who woulda thought?

One issue I have... I would prefer if people weren't labeled
as "ites" based on remarks they've made. Graham referred
to Bill as an anti-sem*ite*. That's a kind of label I'd
prefer to do without unless it is self-applied.

That's no excuse for the remarks themselves, of course.
