their own country's econmonic relationship with Iran or because
"peace" can be used as a way to oppose the U.S. -Stephen

Stephen, I don't want to attack Iran, or any country. Somehow, we find ever elusive the sense of being part of one single human family. Countries treat each other like Cro-Magnons meeting up with Neanderthals.

America needs to be lead by statesmen, which it lacks. Johnny

Many people feel the way you do. I have a different take on
all this as everyone here knows by now. Had to throw in a
pop culture reference. I guess I'm a equal opportunity offender :)

Dizzy: My mother always told me that violence doesn't solve anything.

Jean Rasczak: Really? I wonder what the city founders of Hiroshima
would have to say about that.

[to Carmen]

Jean Rasczak: You.

Carmen: They wouldn't say anything. Hiroshima was destroyed.

Jean Rasczak: Correct. Violence has resolved more conflicts than
anything else. The contrary opinion that violence doesn't solve
anything is merely wishful thinking at its worst.

I missed this one, a friend told me he almost flunked his first book
report because the teacher thought he made up "Rocket Ship Galileo".
He's popular at metalworking groups, here's from one of them, today.

When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say
to its
subjects, This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are
forbidden
to know, the end result is tyranny and oppression no matter how holy
the
motives.
Robert A. Heinlein

"If you are part of a society that votes, then do so. There may be no
candidates
and no measures you want to vote for ... but there are certain to be
ones you
want to vote against. By this rule you will rarely go wrong." --

You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. Don't ever count on
having both at
once.
