Before the election I heard about some foreign service employees
thinking about quitting and staying put because they were
uncomfortable just telling stuff to people they used to have
conversations with. Maybe this was encouraged so more amenable
officers could be appointed, but wouldn't it save a lot of
infrastructure if they got rid of the state department and just used
AFN?
