a little article i read in the local free paper, nuvo.

'wheelchair-confined richard paey commited the same violation of
florida prescription drug laws that radio personality rush limbaugh
did, with a different result; limbaugh's sentence, in may, was an
addicition treatment, and paey's, in 2004, was 25 years in prison.
both illegally possessed large quantities of painkillers for personal
use, which paey defiantely argued was (and will be) necessary to
relieve nearly constant pain from unsuccesful spinal surgeries after
an auto accident, but which limbaugh admitted was simply the result of
an addicition (in fact, if limbaugh complies with his plea bargain,
his conviciton will be erased).
peay's sentence now rests with a state court of appeals'.

go figure.

In Russia, the biggest popular uprising these days seems to
be a series of protests over the fact that government officials
and the rich can buy special driving priveleges which allow
them to use reserved lanes on roads and drive as fast as
they want to. The priveleges used to be reserved to a handful
of top government people, but now anyone with enough money
can gain access.
