video play problems

I can play some videos from some websites but not
from others.

When I click on a video link I get a
1 inch wide image of a what appears to be a generic
website with a red X across it. It shows up for about
one second.

It might be this::???

Unfortunately the image of the X I get and the one
at the link above are not the same.

If anyone is a expert and wants to help that's great.
If you don't know for sure what you're doing I'd rather
not mess up my computer.

Trying to play videos from here.Pop-up blocker on OR off
doesn't make any difference:::::::::::

Removed Java and downloaded newest version,no use.

Firewall turned off

Scripting seems enabled in TOOLS.

No need to reply I guess. I've posted at another
forum. A guy there has given me many things to try.
Did most or all already. Strange problem.
