Disclaimer: I know nothing about this situation... probably
Ahmadinejad is a wacko. But from the the quotes in this
article alone:

"Mr Ahmadinejad had said the Holocaust was a "myth" used for
the creation of Israel"

I note that "myth" does not always mean falsehood. It also
means "story". This could be read to say that the story of the
holocaust has been used inappropriately.

"He said territory should be provided in Germany or Austria to
establish Israel "if European countries claim that they have
killed Jews in World War II"."

This is a good point. The idea of giving a colony to a race
to compensate for mass killings against that race is completely
absurd and wrong. It reminds me of the idea that Rodney King
could be made right through OJ.

Which isn't to say this is pertinent today. What's done is
done. Ahmadinejad's assertion that "In the East, we have
always lived side by side" with jews, doesn't jive with his
other assertion that Israel should be "wiped off the map".

Carl

You might be confusing the comments of Ahmadinejad
and Khatami. Though I'm not positive.

Thanks Stephen. The 'lived side by side' was spoken
by Khatami. Everything else was correct. So Ahmadinejad
wasn't being inconsistent.
