scientific theory of life

i don't think there is really a scientific theory for how life began, except saying that it happened' by accident' which i am not sure is a theory being untestable.
possible all matter is alive in essence, or has the disposition toward combining together in synergetic combinations which inadvertedly results in life.
the structure of virusus might be used as an example supporting this.
if so (as i speculate) we are merely a stepping stone of matter becoming god

Hi Kraig-

thinking from the bottom up can be fun, I find it's much simpler to think
from the top down- your experience of your own consciousness preceeds any
abstractions about origins or about matter. the stories we tell about
origins etc is culture bound, and you can really take your pick from any
ancient mythology up to the new Landscape of Stringy Theory. So "matter" is
really a story life tells itself in this particular dream, it just gets into
the dream so deeply sometimes it forgets who's the dreamer and what is the
dreamed!

Happy HOlyholidays!

Thanks for indulging me Dante,
i should have referenced where this started at,
but maybe there is no one here who isn't on MMM
and good MegaTidings to all

Actually Popper proposed such an attitude toward evolution as a possible top down possibility.
even more so with Quantum reality
more than being my belief system though, it is an attempt to reconcile with science.
and somewhat influenced by Pierre Teilhard De Chardin
and even a comment by Schoendinger (What is Life?)where he describes DNA as an antennae

as if 'explaining' is the way to approach such experiences

all those Kantian a priori knowledge,
jungian archetypes, disposition types
consciousness rest on these for sure
plus others
throw in that
large bag of plug-ins,
language, and just what could be purely empirical

The question also could be applied to composition.
We tend to analyze from the bottom up, motif to mega structure, but we should not assume that some composers did the opposite. where the structure determines the motif, theme as a condensation of all that will unfold.

That sounds more like Mahler than anything i've ever heard
from someone who wasn't him. :)

(refer to Mahler's _3rd Symphony_)
