Iran today

scary stuff. but almost seems too over the top to not be staged in some way.
i suppose having countries on both sides occupied by the worlds one
superpower would make anyone nervous after awhile, for them it must feel
like waiting for the other boot to drop. still, they're playing right into
Bush's hands more and more on an almost daily basis, its virtually like
they're saying "heres some more reasons to invade us! go right ahead!"
strange. when bush does go into iran things are going to get real ugly, even
more so than they already have been. theres nothing good at all in all this.

they were making the point that a ground assault is unlikely due to the size
of Iran and its much larger forces (they have a 7 million (sic) strong force
of mostly little kids who make unarmed attacks in human waves - it worked
against Saddam- after you kill 10,000 of them you run out of ammo, and then
they ovverrun your position). Instead we will bomb the shit out of their
nukular and command sites and then threaten that if they retaliate with
terrorist strikes then we will bomb the shit out of the whole country.

they did recap the history of of Persia/Iran which was interesting, although
unbelieveably depressing, especially the 20th c history. Shah's dad makes
pact with Hitler, allies invade and install his son, our boy the Shah. He
runs the country down until the Khomeni revolution, at which point Saddam
invades to capture the oil fields. When they reach a standoff we give Saddam
aid so he can pound them, and we even help by destrying Iran's navy. Iran
gives up the war and instead funds Hezbollah and terrorist strikes against
US and Israel. Meanwhile, they are building up their nukular capabilities,
hiding and fortifying the facilities.

Which leads us to the present and the psychopath now in charge of Iran.
Whether he is home grown or somehow installed by outside powers really
doesn't matter at this point- the future seems already set out, at least up
to our airstrikes. what happens after that is unknown but can't be good.
