I've tried it on my very ordinary entry level type
new laptop (a Dell Inspiron 1150).

Used it with Virtual Sampler playing
gig files, and with the FM7 and both work fine
- latency setting at the minimum.

I'm using it with XP. According to its home
page it can work with Windows 98 sp2
or later too but not with windows 95
or Windows 98 sp1.
