This coming Friday night in NYC:
Joseph's got a lovely piece in "BlackJack" tuning (about which he can
eleaborate more I'm sure). Microtonal all-star Meredith Borden is
singing.
I'm having a a performance of a new JI work for voice, sax and computer.
It's a self-immolation ritual performed by a denizen of the planet
Mercury. (It's part of the culture over there, ya know.)
Also, my old 'warhorse' "Ooogaah: Dungeony Specimen Spaceship",
re-mixed, will be presented.
The other composers are members of Electric Music Collective, a NY-based
composer group. Their pieces feature various unorthodox tuning schemes
ranging from ring-modulated-piano-generated tunings, to spectral analysis,
to various forms of JI.
Hope people can come!!
