....thansk to Margo for the source files. Here re-orchestrated with a gorgeous
harpsichord soundfont, and sped up a bit.

Enjoy those slippery 1/5 tones!

Cool! That's a powerful soundfont -- reminded a little of Wanda Landowski. Also seemed to have a very high gain compared to most other OGGs I've heard. I thought the piece sounded great this way.

Pardon the embarrassing typo, of course I meant Wanda Landowska. :-(

What a disappointment - I thought you meant Uma Thurman.

As for Aaron's 'humanity', he's got a custom-crafted software widget that he runs on/through his midi file to add subtle inflections to (IIRC) velocity and timing. Don't know if he used it in this case, but I wouldn't be surprised. Though I would be surprised to see Uma play the harpsichord.

Be cool,
Jon

Well, Uma has those big hands, she would probably be a pretty good keyboard player...

D,

Uma has *hands*? Damn.

To make this not so OT (and I won't continue the Uma trend), I came across an unusual site by a Canadian who makes little instrument sculptures and then activates them with sound. Site takes a little bit of intuition to navigate, but the clips from the recordings and photos might be fertile inspiration for others, as they were for me:
