On JI Software again

Hi

I forgot to mention that I prefer to use "midi" as the choice of
medium to compose music in JI.

Please tell me if "midi" is the industry standard for composing music
using a computer. I'd like to learn to use midi sequencing and not
Audio sequencing (of course) because of the lack of JI instruments.

I am open to any ideas as far as an alternate medium to midi.
