Igs and list,

As a public service, I've located pieces and just a small amount of info of the 22tet guitar music of Alison Monteith. I've placed them online for downloading, but I'll only have them up for a few days, so snag them in the near future. I'm listing here the sketchy info on the pieces as had been posted in MMM back when they were offered...

First, three old 22 tet guitar mp3s:

http://www.microtonal.org/mp3/Treebird.mp3
http://www.microtonal.org/mp3/JVguitsnip.mp3

From Alison: "The last is an excerpt from a longer piece. More in the pipeline. These pieces are all in standard tuning: tuning the strings of a 22 tet guitar to each other, that would be frets 9,9,9,8,9, with A at 440. I've been writing for 22 tet guitar in DAGDAD and hope to record soon."

Then there were another two, later on:

http://www.microtonal.org/mp3/gardenjazz.mp3

Alison again: "I've put up Contradanza and Gardenjazz... Both are in 22 tet; Contradanza is the second of a set of two pieces using a 22tet tempered version of Archytas' enharmonic. Gardenjazz is a gentle reflective piece based on several short simple motifs."

Hope you enjoy Alison's music, as I always have.

Cheers,
Jon

Ah, thank you Jon. These are quite lovely. I especially
liked "Contradanza"...gotta love those old Greek scales.
