Hello everyone!

Quick questions.........

What is the temperament and cents
of the standard Gibson and Fender
guitars? What is the temperament
of these 12 tone guitars?

Thanks!
Happy New Year!

These guitars are tuned and tempered the same as every other
commercially-produced instrument in our culture: 12 equivalent
divisions of the octave, with each of the 12 equal steps being 100
cents, give or take a little depending on how "correctly" the
guitar's intonation is set.

The only commercially-produced guitars you can get that do not use
this ubiquitous system are those produced by FreeNote/G&L. See Jon
Catler's site www.microtones.com for more info.

I imagine Paul has shared his 5 black/ 5 black keyboard which centers on the 22 as the product of 12 and 10 which makes sense when using his scale in the way he is interested. If you think of the 22 as 13 and 9 , more along pelog ideas you can have
3blacks, 2 blacks,2 blacks, 2blacks.
3 blacks 2 black , 3 blacks, i blacks
3 blacks 3 times etc.
Erv often uses the 22 as containing the 17 so mounts it as a row of 5 a row of 12 another row of 5. somehow you have to come up with a black row below the whites
