Microtoners,
I've put a string of posts up on my Podcasting site, including pieces
by Jeff Harrington, Bill Sethares, Aaron Johnson, Richard Friedman,
Rick McGowan and Jacob Barton. Let me know what you think. I would
really like to do more, and have a queue of other pieces to do from
these composers and more.

If you'd like to be part of the first wave of the Tsunami of listeners
who are dying to hear more microtonal music, send me an email and give
me the location, permission, and a short paragraph on what it is. I'm
posting info on the service to all the Podcast directories I can find.

Prent,

I got all excited to check out the Podcasts, even before I get my broadband installed. However, I tried downloading Doppler - no fun at all. The installer is expecting a .NET Framework whatever to be installed; when going to the web through the installer it takes you all over the place, finally making you use Windows Update, which of course wants you to be using IE to do it.

Not me, not today. If you have any good info on this, drop me a line. I'll also write the people at Doppler.

Some days I think the geeks thing we're all geeks...

Cheers,
Jon

Jon,
I agree these tools are radically geeky. If I didn't have the platform
and broadband, I would probably give up too. At the moment it's mostly
geeks talking to geeks about geeky things on the Podcasts. My hope is
that their desire for music to become a part of their nacent broadcast
efforts will drag along some of my podcasts as filler, intro's, etc.

At least until the tools are ready for prime time. They aren't right now.

P,

Success. Though a 24mb download just to install another app seems a bit whack. :)

Anyhow, I'll probably make more use of this once the cable guy comes, but I like your format, and you make a pretty damn good dj! Or is it pj? (sorry, webjay just sounds like a bird with membranes instead of feathers...).

Yeah, and I didn't mean it as a total diss, just that unless one can wade successfully into those geek waters it is good to have forewarning. I'm slowly working on a couple of little pieces, I'll let you debut whatever gets done first!

Cheers,
Jon
