Hi All,

I'd like to say "thanks" to all those who have been
making and sharing great micromusic over the
past few months. I've really enjoyed Aaron's Peer Gynt pieces,
Prent's Dry Hole Canyon, and Dan Stearns many pieces.
Gene's ostinato is very cool, Daniel Wolf's
Nocturnes and Mctague's Lyre pieces, and Jeff Harrington's
complete albums... it's been a feast!

Recently, I've been playing around in 7-tet, trying to compose with
a melodic focus (rather than most of my previous 7-tet
pieces which tend to have a rhythmic emphasis, for example
Pagan's Revenge, which is still at
http://eceserv0.ece.wisc.edu/~sethares/mp3s/pagans.html ).
I recently acquired a new software synthesizer, CronoX,
which is nicely retuneable using scala's .tun files --
(I believe we owe Jacky Ligon thanks for making this happen,
does anyone know his current email?), and CronoX plays
the major role in this piece.

Anyway, it's called Septaria, and you can find it at:

Comments, questions, and criticisms welcome...

Bill Sethares

Bill-

This is cool--as usual the sonics are great, and you have successfully showed
how one can enliven a more pop-beat-based style with a little off-kilter
tuning like 7-tet. I would really enjoy hearing this drinking a beer at a
nightclub...it would prick up my ears at once!

Best,
Aaron.
