VST soundfont players

I think some people on this list use soundfonts & soundfont players. Does
anyone know of a soundfont player that meets the following criteria

VSTi plugin, for Windows
tunable via ".tun" file format or similar on-disk format
Plays "sf2" soundfonts.

I found the rgc:audio "sfz" player and tried it out, so I think some of
these soundfonts have possibilities... As long as there's a VSTi soundfont
player out there that's easily tunable to match my other modules like Rhino
& VAZ.

Thanks,
Rick

I've been using the rgc:audio z3ta+ synth, which tunes using .scl files, for a while and I like it. Rene, the developer, is quite open to ideas, but has not made any firm commitment to adding microtuning to sfz. I don't know if it is more problematic than something more synthesis oriented, but I'll mention it again in the rgc forum over at KVR-VST. Worth a try, anyway. Hell, I'm still looking for a moderately advanced sampler that can microtune (a step or two above simple ones like TobyBear's "Helios", or even the limited sample usage in LinPlug's "CronoX")

Cheers,
Jon

Hi Jon,

I've been away from this forum for quite a while.
I also had suggested SCALA support for sfz to Rene. I hope you and
others will request such a feature, and hopefully Rene will make it
a reality. I think he once commented the reason he didn't implement
it on sfz/+ was that most root samples are not perfectly tuned, so
microtuning them would yield suprising results. I say, so what, we
WANT IT anyway!

BTW, if you remember I had conversed with the designer of Vsampler
requesting SCALA compatibility, and God Bless him. He did it.
