Google vs. Yahoo--time of receipt

Hey-

Just wanted to let you all know that I cross-posted a message to Google and to
Yahoo, and I got the Google post 1 minute later.

Still waiting for Yahoo's post.

I know this is unscientific, because we need lots of samples of time data
before we decide once and for all what performs better, but I have to say
this creates a better impression already.

Let me know, all of you, when you get this vs. when you get it from Yahoo, as
I'm using cross-posting as a technique for proving Google is superior in
every way.

Best,

Aaron,

Just so you know, I've applied myself. Once I get notice I'm approved, I'll try posting at both places. Two thoughts:

1. Some of this might be volume of general traffic as well as traffic on the net. I wouldn't count on 'speed tests' being too accurate unless you try it out over a number of differing occasions.

2. As for the search function, have you joined a Google group that has a big an inventory of posts as possible to see how it works for more than a couple msgs?

Awaiting approval,
Jon

One possible way it doesn't seem to be superior in is giving a
chronological listing of posts. The Google Usenet interface has the
same problem.

Google searches its Usenet database very quickly; I doubt this is a
concern.
