Hi, just wanted to point out a playlist I've been promoting on
http://webjay.org (a legal mp3 aggregator service like the old MP3.COM
'stations').

Sorry about the name of the playlist... ;)

Enjoy!

Jeff,
This is a great list of songs. I enjoyed all the songs.

And thanks for the plug. If you can, please correct the spelling of my
last name. One piece is attributed to Prent Rogers, and I'm a Rodgers.
Thanks.

Prent

Jeff,

Agree with others that this is a good, succinct list of some solid music. Technical question: since this appears to be a 'service' that simply links to files sitting on other servers, wouldn't you possibly run the risk of having someone else go over their bandwidth limit? (in this sense it seems quite different from the old mp3.com, soundclick, zebox, etc.)

Cheers,
Jon

That's right Jon... bandwidth IS supplied by the provider. I'd set up
a few playlists a few months ago and noticed that I was having my
piece Erg downloaded about 400 times a month! I tracked it down to
the Webjay plsylists I'd set up.

It's basically just aggregating the MP3s. I think the 'ethics' or
'manners' in this regard are up for grabs. How do I know when my
playlist is causing somebody harm?

;)

Jeff,

{you wrote...}

All I can think of is to ask the person first, to see if their monthly bill might take a hit if their music becomes a hit. I doubt you'd have many, if any, refuse, but it wouldn't take much effort.

And I only mentioned this when I noticed a couple of monthly dings on the account I host the music for this group occasionally: someone's piece would get popular, dl's would go up, and I'd get a bill.

Cheers,
Jon
