What we have here is a wireless MIDI version of handbells.
Each baton is velocity sensitive and triggers a specific
MIDI note. The range is something like 100 feet and a
charge lasts for days. The picture on the lower left shows
the flight case/charger. I could see Laurie Anderson or
the Blue Man Group going to town with a set of these.

I don't know how flexible their MIDI implementation is
(presumably one can get MIDI out and route it to his/her
favorite synth), as this product doesn't seem to be up
on their website yet, but this suggests to me a live
performance piece in say, polyrhythmic JI, with performers
moving around with the batons... I wonder what happens
when you smack two batons together?

Just a thought. Oh, and Schulmerich Bells is located
like, 10 miles from where I grew up. There are a lot
of cool bell companies in the area.
