Andrew, I notice your listening list doesn't contain a link to ZIA...

http://www.ziaspace.com/ZIA/

Click on the "Music" button near the top and see "About ZIA".

You're right! ZIA has now been added (and I am downloading mp3s as I write
this). Thank you! Looks very interesting and certainly an excellent
addition to the list.

Did you figure out how to scroll down the page?

One trick is to select text and drag the selection. Another trick
is to use Firefox.

Oh no, Carl, not another "latest and greatest"? You'll get Joseph all confused!! (let's take this to meta if it needs further discussion...)

Cheers,
Jon

Actually, I just dragged the scrollbar. :<)

Sounds like a browser discrepency. I'm running Netscape w/ Mac OS 9, which
might make me just unique enough to not have a problem.

I'm enjoying ZIA a lot!

In my escapades searching for microtonal audio, I enjoy finding incredible
style differences. It's an interesting thing that there's a unified
microtonal internet community because the thing that we all have in common
is really such a small part of music. Our credo is "Say no to 12 equal,"
but beyond that, we can choose to do anything, so many different kinds of
music are all connected. Rock guitarists, synth-pop bands, college
professors, symphonic composers... all unified by the simplest little idea,
that we like to use tunings other than 12tET. I think that's awesome!

Though I haven't done a professional (or even merely clean)
microtonal performance/recording yet, a few people have been kind
enough to rescue some of my half-assed mp3.com clips in 22-equal
should you be interested:

TIBIA can be found at

Decatonic Swing at

Glassic at

Hi. As always, thanks for the links. I decided to link directly to the
files, so now they're all together on my page. These are good pieces! I
hope the professional and clean recordings you have not yet made will be
made soon. ;<)

Hello

Is the MIDI tuning spec limited to 128 notes ?
If this is the case , how keyboards like the Microzone work on scales with way more notes per octave?
