microtonal piano improvisation upload

Hello all

I finally did something hearable :)
I uploaded it to www.ichbinamleben.de/music/improvisation.mp3

It is an improvisation on two themes I prepared a little, while a third just came in the middle of play. There are also some bugs in my play, but I did not want to do it over and over and thereby use the first-playing-taste.

I hope you like it, write what you think :)

Nice! Keep it up! Any details on the instrument/tuning are always
welcome.

Carl,

Oh I wish I had saved the tuning either in mind or head. (... searching ... ) I did! It was
1/1 17/16 10/9 5/4 6/5 4/3 3/2

I used an Alesis QS 6.1 - not retunable - and MIDI relay (FTS). I was just playing entering some values in FTS and checking the sound coming out.

Very often I just improvise and if some feeling or chord feels fine, I record. Later I ask myself about the tuning. I should get used to write it down somewhere (and remember, where ;) ...

There are two new pieces, if you feel like them - one is in the Japanese Koto Scale, [www.ichbinamleben.de/music/the entertainers resumee.mp3] and the other, [www.ichbinamleben.de/music/juggling the clown.mp3] is in ... well, I am doubting about the tuning of this one. Maybe... well, it must be an ancient tuning the Europeans used times ago... 12-TET? ... i am not quiet sure. I was not busy a lot with the tunings of this time.

;)

Soundin' pretty good!

For those of you at home, that's...

http://www.ichbinamleben.de/music/the%20entertainers%20resumee.mp3

...very impressive!

Usually it's not a good idea to put spaces in filenames when you're
distributing them; sometimes even the %20 trick doesn't work.
Also, it's usually good to put the http:// so that the greatest
number of e-mail viewers will make your link 'hot'.

>well, I am doubting about the tuning of this one. Maybe... well, it

It definitely sounds like 12-tET, but I think it's also your best
of the three. Maybe you can apply a historical temperament and
still sell it around here. :)

Oh, and say, what is your name? I am Carl Lumma.

Carl,

oh thank you for reminding me on that filename-thing. I should have kept in
mind. As soon as I am home, in my music-internet-office (actually
north-no-light-window, one bed, full of instruments-"office" with some roads to walk
between the stuff), I'll correct that.

I am using your compliments about the pieces a little to wipe the dust off
my microtonal soul.
Please like this sentence. Somehow it reflects what I feel :)

I am Clemens Trauzettel. Nice to meet you, Carl Lumma :)

About that thing you identified as TET. I felt that. But I was not sure
anymore. I created it after hours, in the middle time between night and morning.
When checking the relay, there was nothing active (it should be, Clemens,
shouldn't it?), but my ears had this strange (well ... tired?) feeling of a
great difference ;)
Anyway, I decided to upload it. Next time I am about musical jokes (at least
before 11 pm), you'll find a historic clown.

Thanks for your comments, they are always appreciated *smile*
Clemens
