advice on sampling middle C

Okay-- so I'm going to mute all the strings on my piano tonight except one string on
middle C and sample it. I've got the right equipment to do it, but the question is,
what's the ideal sample in terms of duration, sustain, velocity, etc.? -Justin

Make it a nice long one, so you don't have to loop it. Otherwise, I don't know. Record a few and see which works best. Maybe a loud one because you can always soften it with a filter.
