If it produced double notes - perhaps that means it is
playing notes itself as well as retuned in FTS?

I assume you are using it to play on as well as to generate the
sounds - in that case you need to set it to play silently
itself, just send the notes via midi out (check that you
hear no sound when it is disconnected from your computer),
and to play notes received by the keyboard on its Midi in
line.

If it produces percussion notes, maybe that means that
FTS is relaying some notes on midi channel 10.
Try going to Out | Options | More miid out Options
and press the GM synth button.

(This is the standard setting when FTS is installed but
maybe it got changed)
