External Soundcard

HI everyone,

Did you know that you can hook up an external soundcard
to a laptop via a USB port?

I've just heard about it from an FTS user who plans to do this to
add Midi In and Out to a laptop.

Because - often the laptops have on-board sound with no midi
in or out, and you can't add a new soundcard to it in the
conventional fashion, so I always thought that
midi i/o is impossible in that situation.
But it seems, not any more :-).
