Commissioned by electronic percussionist and Stockhausen assistant,
Michael Manion, Croche et Tient is a piece for MalletKAT and MAX on
the Kawai K5000 synthesizer. Will be premiered April, 23 at the Zaal
100 Series, 'The Workshop' and webcast live. Zaal 100. You can click
on Live Audio to hear it when the concert is ongoing. 22:00, April
23. http://www.wittereus.net/

MIDI echo, quartertones and 11 minutes of dramatic mayhem, the piece
explores territory charted in my Acid Bach series but with a more
dramatic and longer tension-building form. Periodically, in the
slower sections, the percussionist lets quartertone clusters sustain,
creating a night-like atmosphere.

Croche et Tient, the title, was gotten from a post card we got from
Elsie's cousin who's in the French special forces (now stationed in
the Coite d'Ivoire). Crush and hold. Seemed like a fitting title
before the onset of WWIII.
