Dear...

Before I attempt an answer, please take this next statement in the spirit I=
am writing, which is to try and be helpful: your statements and questions a=
re somewhat confusing, and I am just taking a chance that English is not you=
r first language. Could you clarify a couple of things?

You mean you haven't had time to write to the list because of studies?

ning.

You are taking a 6 month course of piano tuning? And when you say "mmm of a=
coustic piano", do you mean you want to find more information on how to tune=
pianos *other than* 12tet?

Again, about what? Piano tuning?

There are probably many places that people could help in this regard, but y=
ou may not need that as the *first* set of information.

We may be able to help if you can clarify what you need help with.

Cheers,
Jon

Let's see, there's a little paperback book called 'Horns Strings and
Harmony' by Arthur Benade that should get you started on the
mathematical structures. Book called 'Physics and Music' by Sir
James Jeans (whose wife played the clavichord....) is also good for
basics. History of temperament, well, mostly unreadable, alas, but
there's Mark Lindley, 'Lutes, Viols and Temperament', and a quite
new little book by Stuart Issakoff called 'Temperament' which is
fairly readable but alas gets mountains of things wrong. Piano
tuning, best book I have is 'Piano Tuning, Servicing and Rebuilding'
by Arthur Reblitz. And there is a huge book on the history of
temperament in pianos, sort of, called 'Tuning', by Owen Jorgenson,
which is fascinating, but expensive, specialized and I fear quite
misleading in many ways.
