2 things:

Mike : Thank you for this info ! I just hope James McCartney gets the OS X version out soon, which given that he's going to work for the mothership (Apple), is very likely.

He always said, "SuperCollider is for Macintosh only. There is not currently a PC version.
Please do not send email asking about a PC version." Which brings me to the next thing -

Rick, get a Mac. Atleast plan on getting one. It's a good plan. A G4 of some sort - eMac, PowerBook, iMac, PowerMac. User-friendly desktop Unix super-computing. And with it's "CoreAudio", it's got music in it's soul. Reportedly it's dead easy to write audio & MIDI apps in OS X, including software synths.
