Hi Paul and Ara,

That thing about nothing happening when you
try to relay from Midi In is something of a
FAQ with the FTS 1.09 beta, I don't know
how many people have said it now.

I have just added a note about it in the beta download
_before_ the link you use to download it.

http://members.tripod.com/~robertinventor/ftsbeta.htm

There was a note there before but it is a
big page with lots on it, and clearly the
note wasn't very noticeaable before.

It's important to put it before the download link
because naturally many people read the web page
sequentialy, get as far as the
download link, download it ,and then they
are off with the program playing with it,
and that is the last they see of the download
page probably.

Thanks, Robert. I'll check that out and hopefully we'll be on
our smithy way .

Hope so :).

But if by any chance it doesn't work out we can try other things.
Always has so far but there's always a first time. Hopefully
you will get a useful error message from Windows via FTS
if it doesn't open. Another thing that happens is that
sometimes there are no devices listed at all on the In menu
- but that normally means there are no midi in devices on the computer
(not just that one of the soundcards has no midi in device on it).

If you've got it working with Midi Relay then there should be
some midi in devices for FTS to find hopefully.

That's ironic.

I used Verdana instead of Times New Roman because it is a particularly
clear font - Serif fonts are best for typed material but non serif
fonts are best for on-line pages as they are easier to read on a
screen.

I expect it is a matter of specifying a secondary font
in the font tag for those who don't happen to have it
- I think you can just say non-serif. Anyway it is
all very easy to do if one can figure out which
is the best format to use.

Or one can leave the text at the default setting
which lets the reader change it.

Best to use html if one can because there
are many links between the various pages.

Anyway do re-assure him to contact me. No point in
struggling away when something simple can easily fix
it (if I know about it).

:-)

Hi there,

Here is the upload of FTS beta with the help for the MTS single note retuning
and the new exception handler:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robertwalker/FTS_Beta_Preview_Setup.exe

Download page: http://tunesmithy.co.uk/

It also has the MFX plug in but that needs more work - mainly you
can see what it will look like and get an idea of how it would
fit in with Cakewalk / Sonar. When I checked, some of the
pitch bends didn't seem to be going through as intended
and I need to investigate that and find out what is happening
and what needs to be done. I'll be doing another upload soon.

I've uploaded a longer extract of the science friction fractal tune
to mp3.com.au and they usually have it up within a day or two, sometimes
the same day. Also uploaded it to mp3.com - probably will take about
a week.
