Yep. The resonators can move on their connectors, and you can find differing overtones depending on where you move them under the blade.

Soft, mellow bells, with a quick decay.

We wanted them to be visually interesting on a large stage in a hall that seats nearly 2000, in addition to whatever video close-ups might occur. I have intentions of some modifications to make them completely safe (i.e. no sharp edges on the blades!) and then I'm going to start using them in educational outreach programs, to show kids they can make music anytime, anywhere! I'm hoping to approach Home Depot to fund a program, either financially or with materials, so we can go to schools and build instruments right there, even if it is simply having sticks and plastic paint buckets to start with...

Cheers,
Jon

Your so subversive, turning future Home Depots into music rooms by working on
there future customers!

Well, I got there first : - ) Great minds must think alike.

Inspired by Skip La Plante's efforts, whose website I'm sure you've
seen, I applied for an Arts Council grant to do a similar project in
primary schools and at festivals for children. I await the outcome, but
enough people seem to be fascinated by the whole idea to make it
possible even without funding. I think of it as Hi-Art, Lo-Tech.

The doubters are usually unimaginative clones or individuals who have
lost touch with the roots of music.

Best Wishes

First, last, the more the merrier!

With enthusiasm and positive energy, it is possible to get people motivated pretty easily on these kind of projects.

Yesyesyesyesyes. Here's to bringing the muse, in even the most elemental forms, to as many people as we can!

Cheers,
Jon
