I see in SCALA scale archive that the file named "al-farabi_div.scl"
gives the following intervals:

Al Farabi's 10 intervals for the division of the tetrachord
|
0: 1/1 0.000
1: 256/243 90.225
2: 18/17 98.955
3: 162/149 144.818
4: 54/49 168.213
5: 9/8 203.910 perfect 2nd
6: 32/27 294.135
7: 81/68 302.865
8: 27/22 354.547
9: 81/64 407.820
10: 4/3 498.045 perfect 4th

whereas, in D'Erlanger "La Musique Arabe" Tome 1, the following string
lengths have been defined:

20736.0
19683.0
19072.0
18816.0
18432.0
17496.0
16896.0
16384.0
15552.0

Which yield, instead:

0: 1/1 0.000
1: 256/243 90.225
2: 162/149 144.818
3: 54/49 168.213
4: 9/8 203.910 perfect 2nd
5: 32/27 294.135
6: 27/22 354.547
7: 81/64 407.820
8: 4/3 498.045 perfect 4th

The appearance of 18/17 was also reported by Prof. Yalçın Tura, but I
can't find it in the tome encompassing al-Farabi's "The Great Book on
Music". Gotta check Cris Forster's MM.

Cordially,
Oz.
