19 broken wings (in glass)

I improvised bass, lead, chords, effects in 19 notes per octave against a sequence of drum loops run through effects. Then - just to see the difference I took the same midi recorded performances and used Kontakt in place of absynth. At this moment I am preferring the kontakt version – your mileage may vary.

I chose the absynth version. That is one monster bass line!
That bass line would not be possible in 12. The whole thing
worked pretty well too. I especially liked the first section
(to 0:26) with the guitar and bass harmonizing together.

The Absynth version by a mile for me. That synth-guitar lead is actually pretty smokin', pretty much answers the question to me of what Steve Vai would sound like in 19. This is definitely one of my favorite things you've done...very "Monsters of Rock"...how many cans of hairspray did you need before you sat down to record this? ;->

I didn't like the Absynth version; found it annoying.

Thanks for all of the listens and comments!

No hairspray was used - I hope that doesn't disappoint anyone ;-)

I recorded video for two great 1 hour lectures here in Urbana.

Jeff talked about timbre and tuning and such.
Rob talked about timbre and cymbal technology.
