Started with my usual 36-pitch JI scale.

For each JI pitch, I substituted the nearest 58EDO pitch.

The difference is as great as 10 cents.

The vibes have the original JI scale, the piano has 58EDO substitutions.

I noodle around, piano and vibes in octaves.

The moral: Because this doesn't sound bad, don't get too hung up on the wrong
attitude toward precision (fussiness) when it doesn't matter that much!

In any case, what you *don't* hear is some hideous Unheimliche clash of
incompatible systems, or something.

Close enough for Cal.

A reminder, to myself at least, to loosen up a little.

That being said, however, I think the 58EDO variation of my scale is better than
JI for the piece I'm trying to write currently.
