The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea

🔗christopherv <chrisvaisvil@...>

4/5/2011 6:42:45 PM

This is a blues collaboration between The Two Regs (vocals / lyrics) and Norm Harris (percussion) and myself (17 note per octave electric guitar and fretless bass).

You can play it online here: http://chrisvaisvil.com/?p=706
You can download it here: http://micro.soonlabel.com/17-ET/daily20110401-17-2-devil_in_the_deep_blue_sea.mp3

We hope you enjoy it.

PS I didn't check but from the sounds of it the singer is singing in 17 edo even though he is NOT a microtonalist. I think the guitars pulled him in. And of course - blues is not the most difficult genre around.

I received the lyrics

Devil in the deep Blue Sea

A hush in the Darkness
A silence thats seen
Be quiet now baby and come to me

A nightmare dream
Where the Darkness Screams
I need to love, oh, woman come to me

I know your the Devil in the deep blue sea
I know your the Devil come for me
I need you to feed, feed on my scream
Come to me baby lets feed

The Ocean holds the Darkness
The Darkness holds the key
Unlock my heart babe, oh, woman come to me

I know your the Devil
Whose come up from the sea
Im living in the Darkness, Im living in the scream

I know your the Devil, Come up from the sea
I know your the Devil, Whose come to feed on my scream
Ive seen you in Nightmares
In my Darkest Dreams
But, I need your Love, So, woman come to me

A hush in the Darkness
A silence thats seen
Be quiet now baby, just, come to me

Is it a Dream

I can feel myself scream

Theres nothing but Darkness

I need your love

I need you to love

I need, I need, I need you

Thank you for the comment on our piece Aaron!

When we found the typo from the singer that I posted in haste I figured that
people would figure it was a typo rather not get another email correcting
it.

Mike,

Please point to a time when the community has been really
touchy-feely-good-vibey....

Anyway, my comment on the typo was good natured on my end, which is usually
indicated by a "wink" sign. <harmless sarcasm> Wink signs look like this:
;) </harmless sarcasm>

I cannot claim responsibility for being misinterpreted....

Very provocative, I like it.

Chris, you no doubt have noticed that my hectic life precludes more than
a line or two of comments from me on your above-average decent
microtonal productions. Succinctly put, I appreciate you taking the time
to compose or arrange longer, preferably 5 minutes or longer, music.
Otherwise, these daily one and a half minute updates really sound
discontinuous. Frankly, my ears are tired of the shower of goodies of
late. Talking of market saturation, I think greater care-given longer
works by you would be a bonus to the group.

Oz.

you are asking to be tortured by me for longer periods of time???

Muhahahah!!!

Why of course!!

However, I generally write in the 3 to 4 minute range - so I'm a little
confused by your perception.

If you go to this link you will see most of my recent output with the times
to the right of the title.

http://alonetone.com/vaisvil/tracks

I think you will see that I consistently write longer than a minute or
minute and a half.
Perhaps you are thinking of my 60x60 entry that *had* to be one minute long?

Torture? Nay, some works by you are a positive pleasure... except...
verily, I remember most have little or nothing to do with the Classical
fetishist's expectations of exposition-development-recapitulation. I
only suggest congruity in your xentonal music output, being a die-hard
advocate of systematized & planned composition. You know what I mean.
Less frequent, longer, carefully preplanned & scored works... 5 minutes
or preferably longer.
