My second piece in 11et ("VoxSyntheticus" was my third piece in this
tuning).

Best,

Sorry, huge gaffe here -- "Vox" was in 13et, *not* 11et.

Not enough coffee...!

Vox Syntheticus was the one that sounded like the best tune Depeche Mode never made? :-) that was really well done.

On this tune I'm bothered by the tuning of the percussion- it sounds like it was tuned to work with 12-tET. I love cliched 808 sounds myself, and find this is a problem sometimes when using them with other tunings.

I meant to use cliched 808 sounds as an example, not say you used them.

Spammers have broken NOM - I have taken it off line until I can find the
time to upgrade. In the meantime here is a link to your music that will
work.

Wow, this piece is oogles of fun when you simultaneously read the
article below that compares Mimas and Encladus to the Death Star:

I enjoyed it immensely, thanks Jon Lyle!

I think it's jaunty.

Despite uploading it to my server, this is the first I've listened - I think
its great .
It has an 80's sound - sort of what those synth-pop bands should have
sounded like - I mean I can see Devo or Gary Neuman or Thomas Dolby fronting
this.

Excellent - you make 11 edo "sound like home".

Great work!!

I think so too! What I like about your little pieces is that you have an innate sense of structure - just how much to repeat, how much to vary, and especially when to put in counter-lines for interest. Honestly, I think it could have ended at around the 3:15 mark, probably even in the way you ended it later, and it would have been stronger for it (i.e. I don't think there was literally enough happening to keep it going, but that is just me).

Over all, another fun, well crafted modern-retro dance piece from JLS.

Now, about those drum sounds... :)

Cheers,
Jon

Well-crafted, but it's in a style I haven't listened to for a long time. :)

It's worth noting that this is a pop song that doesn't suffer from the
issues that I had with "Cool My Head" -- the progressions don't sound
like out-of-tune pop progressions, they sound like something specific
to and correct for that tuning.

Regards,
Jake

John Lyle Smith!

This was really really inspiring and incredibly done fun....sounds bloody
amazing in headphones, too. Probably my favorite example of 11-edo to date!
Bravo!

AND----thank you for using warm, fat, and listenable synth sounds and really
crafting a nice mix! Even the choir type sounds seem more at home
here....Excellent on all counts!

Jon seems not to like the drum sounds, but I think they're appropriate for
this style. He's a bona-fide percussionist, so forgive him for hating drum
machine sounds.... :)

Thanks again!
