Yes it's only 10 minutes work adding this to
Scala. I still need to know if 0 is the lowest
permissible tuning number, and is 12800 the
highest number? If not, what are they?

12EDO.tun
<------- the file starts here?
[Tuning]
note 0=0
note 1=100
note 2=200

Hello Jacky,

You can try it now, do SET SYNTH 112.

Then you're missing quite nice new things if I may say
so myself. You can try out tunings without having to
tune your synth. And the chromatic clavier now has
mode support too. If you select one in the mode window,
the keys on the screen will reflect that mode.

Robert, I've made your preset button too.

An update of 1.8 will have to wait a short while.

Jacky,

Thanks for all the praise! I had listened to your
22Xtech.. piece and it's great too. You have a lot of
talent.

Yes, a less strict category is also given, called
"appreciable fifths". It's the name I gave to a range originally
by Dave Keenan, and slightly adapted.

Best,

Yes, everything in the 1.8 version is still in the 2.05
version. So you can still type CD /L in the command line
at the bottom of the main window.

Sorry, my memory has let me down. Must be the age that keeps
increasing. "Appreciable" is stricter than "recognizable". Here's
the definition:
A stricter interpretation is to let the fifths of the 12-tone Pythagorean
scale not produce a fifth in the adjacent interval class which is further
away
from 700.0 cents than they are themselves. This gives a lower bound of
6200/9
= 688.89 cents and an upper bound of 5000/7 = 714.29 cents. So for the
lower
bound, the fifth of 8 steps is 711.11 and for the upper bound the fifth of
6
steps is 685.71 cents. The idea comes from Dave Keenan who chose slightly
different values. If the number of recognisable fifths c.q. fourths is
different according to this stricter definition, the amount with average
is
shown in addition, where they are called "appreciable" fifths c.q.
fourths.

Ah, please send me the scale files that make making a midi file and
show data crash, then I can remove the bugs. Thanks,

Manuel
