Hi folks,

Maybe this will turn into a nice motivational project for me--I'm giving
myself the task of depicting in brief (~20 seconds or so) micro-music some
of the colorful personalities on the list. Consider them dedications of a
sort. It's kind of fun--take a little musical material, massage it, make a
tiny statement out of a sketch.

So, I started last night with Carl Lumma, and this morning with Gene Ward
Smith.

Carl gets a lowdown 4-on-the-floor 16-edo anti-diatonic disco motive
complete with a portamento/legato lead saw synth, while Gene gets an 11-edo
(1 2 1 2 2 1 2) neo-Subtillior 2-part counterpoint ditty.

Wow, Aaron, thanks for my new theme song! I was worried I would like Carl's better, but no fear, and he can't have mind if he likes it better.

:) gr8---glad you liked it. It was fun.

I think it's a good idea, whihc I'm stealing from Dan Stearns, to keep the
comp chops hot by writing tiny ditties frequently!

Finally getting around to the listening posts for the day...

Awesome! It's flattering to have my name associated with
such a cool study. It fits me perfectly. I could never
express myself (literally, myself) in music so well.
