I do quite a bit of work with difference tones and notice that range has a
lot to do with this. I don't as a practice work with drones though.

On the subject of MOS , I have always preferred Constant Structures and
it seems that although we like to have our like intervals subtended by the
same number of notes
we like variation in their size. Examination of scales around the world
show a preference to scale steps of unequal size.

Hello Jacky!
I have found whenever the difference tone falls within the middle of the
hearing range they can become quite prominent. on struck instruments
especially. Once i get into "thirds" above the treble clef for example! With
the 1-3-7-9-11-15 vibraphone i used to play mary had a little lamb all in
difference tones with really strange combinations. With low pitches, the
result becomes rhythms. I finally have the full 12 pitches of my slendro,
hope to take it up to an octave and a fourth or fifth,
