Re Bach CDs

Aaron, here is the problem for the generalist, the specific:

AKJ: But the claim that a certain
ratio, because it is present in a certain WT and not in another, will send
a
shiver up the village baker's spine when he listens to Bach's Goldbergs
where it
won't happen in another WT---I find all such talk highly suspect.

Actually, the Goldberg does not move to different keys and is almost
identical to meantone in Werckmeister III tuning. Almost any other choice would
have made a better argument.

Listen to Rebecca Pechefsky's complete The Well-Tempered Clavier Book I in
Werckmeister III for JS Bach on Quill Classics (QC 1009-2). It's
beautiful, too.
