Another psaltry experiment

I purchased a cheap tuner that reads cents in the form of a note + dial wiper cents in 5 cent increments. So for this time I have an idea of what I tuned my psaltery to by ear. I had intended to try Michael S. ' phi section but my mind couldn't wrap around the implementation for now and I think the weights of strings aren't too suitable as well.

Nonetheless:

here is the tuning for the files linked to this message:

G# + 15 cents
D# + 25 cents
B + 8 cents
G# + 35 cents
D# + 35 cents
C - 30 cents
D# + 0 cents (above the C)
G# + 35 cents (below the C)

The tuning doesn't look too interesting to my eyes but it sounds ok.

Hi Chris~
Intriguing the mistuned octaves yet in my metaslendro tuning i sometimes play with such things in compositions. I was able to imitate this on one of my instruments which has some intervals in the 30 cent flat area, even more than here as the sound made me think of it. .
I am too lazy to convert your scale to vibrations per sec which is the only way to see if there is anything going on here of a difference tone nature.
One reasons ratios are good too as one can see this type of info much easier.

What was your own reaction seeing what it is you heard?

Hi Kraig,

I think next time I am going to load a tuning into pianoteq (or
something) and match sounds.

My reaction was that - this tuning is awfully simple - it is basically
a G# minor chord - but seems so rich to play.
So, I think this is a valuable composition message to myself => the
lesson is in efficiently using pitch resources.

A question - the intervals (excepting the problematic bottom string)
seem pure enough but sound exotic - would this be a result of the
mis-tuning?

Chris
