It's back

Hey kids,

'Tis only I, returning to the list after a somewhat enforced absence.
Haven't written any music for about 2 years, but I keep getting these
pesky e-mails from a fringe outfit called 'UnTwelve' (humor intended
here). Thus, I thought I'd pop in & soak up the ambiance.

My music host -- ZeBox.com -- spiraled down the tubes some while back,
taking my posted tunes with it; so this morning I created a new page at
SoundClick.com. I posted some ancient junk from the vaults, temporarily
at least, until I get up & going in full micro-tonal mode. There are
about 20 pieces posted, though only about half are tuned*, the rest are
in 12et (the horror...the HORROR).

Hooray John! I was just going through my mp3s last week and
listening to some of your stuff. Here's hoping you get the bug
again for writing music... your stuff is always so nicely
concieved and executed. I wonder if Orion Pro is still out
there... -Carl

Hey guy,

The "bug" has got me. Was kinda out of the loop for a while due to
sundry ACTS OF GOD, but the dust has settled
and I'm thinking about rubbing some notes together. Thanks for the kind
appraisal, btw.

If you get the chance, check out some of the 12et tunes at my SoundClick
page (sorry about the URL, I put spaces
between my name & it don't work so well that way!); I may not have
posted them here -- 12et being in bad odor
& all.

Anyway, everything there is old and so of rather uneven quality, but
most were created on the fly with demo
software and a learning curve. I am still using my trusty/rusty copy of
Orion Pro, tho I think its been discontinued.

I'm going thru some files of unfinished bits and hopefully, will have
some new stuff in a couple of weeks...

Best,
jls

Jon Lyle, how nice of you to come back! It's been some time I whiffed
a breath of your fresh music. Thanks for making them available again!

Cordially,
Oz.

Hello Oz,

Good to be back with you & all the gang! The stuff I posted at my new
page
is old and none too "fresh", but I have lots of odds & ends to work on;
I'll notify
the brave of heart when I upload something new.

Best,
jls

Wasn't Undecilith in a subset of 79 MOS 159-tET?

Oz.

Oz,

You are correct, my friend; I checked the list of Scala files used in
Orion Pro & found it listed there as "Subset of Yarman's 79".
Thanks for the reminder!

Best,
jls
