I think the only way it can really happen is if we just worry about the
first and last
and someday the middle will take care of itself. Those who have tried
otherwise have merely watched there visions nipped in the bud! Copyrights
will do more to stop development than help it!

I agree in part: if someone builds the prototypes and someone (else?) creates some killer music for the instruments, then a groundswell could start. But no company will be willing to invest the big money to make completely new ww/brass instruments unless they perceive that they can sell them. All we need do is look at the kbd people: it is so brain-dead easy to add micro-tuning, but how many have done it? And how many who did are retreating?

I hope it changes, because it is a big burden for each generation to make their own individual 'orchestras', Lou and Harry notwithstanding...
