This is a cool piece Carlo and works great xenharmonicly - not all of it
works as blues for me though.

The question I'm asking myself for the 10 - 15 minutes its been playing is
if I am justified or not in thinking the Blues is tied to certain melodic
relationships. I'm really not sure if I'm being narrow in my view.

I need to think on this.

Hi Chris,
thanks for listening. You are right, it is not strictly a blues. It does not have a blues structure but it sounded "bluesy" so I mixed Delta Blues with the use of a Gamma mode and came out with the title!

What do you mean by blues structure? (I associate that with form)

Melodically I think flat 5, 7, neutral 3rd are Blues essentials. But some
of this this may not even be available depending on tuning and equipment.

On the other hand your expression was certainly bluesy. (is that your
structure?)

Here I think is the heart of the question.

In 12 tet any style is just a collection of choices and tendencies - I can
compose passably in most styles.

What happens when one transcribes a 12 tet style into a non-12 tet tuning
scheme?
Right now I'm not sure how to answer this.

Chris,

usually a blues song is based on a three chord structure: I, IV and V, my tune isn't!

Hi Carlo,

Ok, I see your POV.

Doesn't take anything away from your excellent piece of course.
